Adam Li's story

Adam Li was an elderly man of fifty-five. His appearance had nothing special: bald-headed, bespectacled, and yes, bearded, as it befitted a real old scientist. Yes, he was a scientist. He took a post of a lecturer at Newcrest University, before moving to Windenburg to do real science. The local laboratory had all the modern equipment to conduct any experiment he could have ever dreamt of.

Adam Li had no family. And he liked spending his spare time alone, reading an interesting book. Books were his passion. He could read all day long. Adam mostly read professional literature, biographies of outstanding men of science, and sometimes also science fiction.

Adam led rather an ascetic life. His house was very plain. He had no TV, no radio, no computer. But frankly, a little mobile phone that he always carried in his right pants pocket, could easily replace all of those devices. (to be continued)
